Ortiz was unconscious out there. While Detroit pitching was serving softballs up there for him to hit, the Detroit fans were serving up some hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel for the fire. He hit a bases-empty home run in the 5th inning, cracked a solo homerun in the 8th inning and smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 25th of the season) in the 9th inning. Lewisville out-hit Detroit for the game, 16 hits to 7. Russ Ortiz(8-8) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings and allowing 1 run. Chad Cordero earned his 14th save. John Lackey(7-5) was hit with the loss. Lewisville now has a record of 41-60. With the loss, the Detroit ballclub's record is 55-46.
